Monarch and Milkweed

Someone has been eating my milkweed leaves...


How lovely, it's a Monarch! I'm so glad to have milkweed available for them, so that I get to see their cheery colors each year.

    I remember learning about this connection when I was little (and very into bugs). I've always liked milkweeds because of it. And the seed pods are a lot of fun too. Monarchs are truly amazing creatures. Though I'm not sure how I'd feel in one of the forests in Mexico where they spend the winter... might be a few too many at that point...
