Bus-Train and Li-berry Adventure Day

Monday - check the job list... It's been a lot of years since GraMary has been caregiver for two kids.

1. Get Travis fed, dressed, and to daycare. Travis must have excellent bus karma! We did not wait over 3 minutes for any bus (and we took three!)

2. Proceed with Katelyn for day one of Spring Break week: part 1 - a bus-train adventure. We bussed from Travis' daycare to the University of Washington to catch the new light rail that runs UNDER the ship canal near Lake Washington. "Are we under the water now? Are we still under the water? I don't see the water leaking into the tunnel. Oh, here's another tunnel! Are we under the water again?"

Beware! A six year old with the camera!

Okay, enough. We went to the airport and then back into downtown Seattle for part 2: The Seattle Public Library main branch. "No, GraMary, it's LI-BERRY!"

Katelyn wanted to find books about race cars. We used the computer data base, found some we liked, and searched the stacks. Then she asked me to take some pictures instead of taking the book home. (Thank goodness since the book she picked weighed at least 6 pounds!)

"GraMary, I NEED that trophy picture!"

Then we went back to the first floor to the children's area since they were having special craft projects each afternoon of spring break centered around a Shakespeare theme.

What fun! Then back to the elevators. She claims it was not her favorite part, but I question that given that it was imperative that we visit every floor.

One last picture before I pried her from the li-berry. We did leave the race car book, but she found another even bigger and heavier one that she HAD to HAVE: a book on sea glass in full color. I get it; I loved it too. Hunting for sea glass is now on the agenda for this week.

We all made it home and needed to model our crowns.

Queen Karen even was given a ruff to wear.

And after a full day of wiggling and fussing with a loose tooth, it came out while brushing teeth for bedtime. Good night.
